The VASYLI + Hoke prefabricated foot orthotic is the result of the collaboration between Phillip Vasyli and Brian Hoke DPT, SCS.

The VASYLI + Hoke device is expressly designed for the control of the pes cavus foot type. Unlike an over pronator, a supinator will invariably have a more complex foot type, often with a combination of triplanar alignment issues such as:

Plantarflexed 1st ray or forefoot valgus
Forefoot equinus
Forefoot adductus

The intrinsic design features of the VASYLI + Hoke specifically address the common alignment issues associated with a supinated foot type.

HOW THEY WORK

	Forefoot equinus in the sagittal plane results in premature loading of the forefoot.
	Forefoot valgus + plantar flexed (PF) 1st ray in the frontal plane may lead to over supination.
	Forefoot adductus in the transverse plane increases prominence of the base of the 5th ray.

Dr. Hoke has recorded a series of short instructional videos to assist practitioners in the evaluation of the pes cavus foot. These demonstrate techniques for identifying pes cavus foot problems and assist with the orthotic prescription process and treatment regimens.
